Kelly Nii Lartey Mensa is a Ghanaian celebrity blogger and showbiz pundit who feels that most Ghanaian musicians are ungrateful and feel too big to appreciate the DJs who helped them.
According to the social media influencer, artistes in the country turned to sideline the people who actually played some key roles in their music journey.
An angry Kelly Mensa who could not fathom why musicians behave this way took on to his Facebook timeline to express his anxieties. .
In his Facebook post dated January 6th, 2017, Kelly Mensa mentioned two top Ghanaian DJs who recently celebrated their birthdays with no gifts from musicians ranging from the unheard to the A-lists.
“Nii Ayi recently celebrated his birthday. He’s a DJ and a major player in our entertaiment industry. Deejay Ashmen also. These guys are constantly on radio playing Gh songs. One their special days, from my end, not a single GH artiste gave them a shout. From underground to A listers.
I heard DJ black recently dropped an album with top GH artistes on it. At the launch, not even the artistes he personally invited came through. Nobody tweeted it. A top DJ in Africa is promoting your own song, and you won’t take 1min to tweet about it??
Do you think there can be any law under this galaxy to stop these DJs from playing American or Nigerian or SA songs if their artistes will tweet about them and give them shouts??
