The CEO of Pizarea, the biggest food ordering business in Africa, Mr. Henry Ameleke has shown his concern about the poor attendance and lack of patronage for our local leagues, he was speaking to Mixtic the broadcaster in a direct interview.
“I recently watched a Kotoko Match in a hot afternoon during a mid-week fixture and the attendance was heartbreaking, what came in mind was how can a match of this magnitude be played on a weekday at 3pm where the majority of the fans would be at work”
This may be because the floodlights at the stadiums may not be functioning or very expensive for to afford, but Henry Ameleke suggested that when the management of the league decide to set a standard for all premier league centers to have a standard stadia with floodlights at the venues whereby the management of the clubs can insist the matches on weekdays can be played be played after 6pm to allow workers to close from work and visit the venues.
Floodlights and stadiums can be outsourced to effective companies to manage through funding and revenues generated can be split into percentages.
In running the football, numbers count, lack of fans really affect revenue so it is critical the league organizers make efforts to improve the attendance which would help increase business activities around stadiums, which can increase food others and link it to other businesses, he added.
