Ghanaian musician, Hermon Cyrus Kwesi Nhyira Oteng popularly called Cwesi Oteng has asked Ghanaians to start tagging him as a ‘Christian’ artiste and no more a ‘Gospel’ artiste.
Speaking to Andy Dosty on Hitz FM’s Daybreak Hits the ‘God Dey Bless Me’ hit-maker said, to be called a gospel musician in Ghana is “overrated and baseless” hence he preferred to be tagged a ‘Christian musician’ not Gospel Musician.
“It’s overused and become baseless to me. I prefer to be called a Christian artiste because it moves with my purpose, plan, and vision; anyone can be a gospel artiste now so I prefer this…”
“I don’t want to be urban, contemporary artiste. I am a Christian artiste. People want that, and I am not interested. I was not called to establish that. I am pushing a Christ agenda that is heavenly…” Cwesi maintained.
